Business on Wechat, a Win-win Thing!

If there is a chance for you, and your business, to sell things without any rent and utilities, what would you think of that? Or, if your friends recommended that you buy something that they already use and enjoy, would you be willing to buy it also? The answers are obviously positive, right?

So what we'd like to introduce to you is called Wechat business. Wechat is a messaging service, which combines all the features of Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and even Venmo. Turns out, it also becomes a free platform for retail business now.

To begin with, we're going to show you a video about a Chinese girl who was studying in Australia, and sold milk powder to Chinese people on the mainland, and made a fortune.

First, people have demands for those products. Then, instead of charging rent and utilities, these retailers only charge a little fee, makes the price good. Above all, the sources are real. And people trust these sources. You can see why selling and buying products on Wechat has become a trend.

We believe that there are two reasons that are driving this phenomenon.

1. There are many active WeChat users.

It is obvious that the number of Wechat users is being increased gradually since the second quarter of 2011and during the third quarter of 2016, the number of monthly active Wechat users went up to 846,000,000 people. Not to mention that this information only includes the numbers in China. It is so exciting that Wechat was only used as a popular messaging service, but now, people are extremely dependent on it. This is thanks to its many functions, like posting photos, articles and videos, as well as calling your contacts through voice or video, sending money to your contacts, making payments for stuffs and so on, people use it anytime for anything.
Dividing Wechat users by age, as shown below, we can find out that the majority of them are between 18 years old and 25 years old, which is pretty young. Ninety-percent of Wechat users are under thirty-six years old.

To have a huge amount of users like this and also have a wide age range can benefit a lot for our Wechat businesses to help them develop. Because the more users we have, the higher demands there are. Different people have different interests, which can definitely lead to abundant kinds of Wechat businesses.

2. Trust beats everything

People always trust someone they know, which means they trust a reliable relationship, especially on purchasing things. There are many platforms, like Alibaba, Taobao, Amazon, that can be used to buy things. But Wechat might be a little bit different than others, because of the trust issues.

Since Taobao is notorious for its unreliable quality of products, we don't even know whether the products we bought are real or not.

When your friends or families who are on Wechat start to recommend some stuff they bought on Wechat to you, it will definitely be easier for you to be persuaded to purchase it. This is because your friends or family just want to share good things with you after they used the products. Therefore, of course, whenever you need these things, you will absolutely put these recommendations first.

How to share a contact, step 1

How to share a contact, step 3
How to share a contact, step 2
I benefit from Wechat business as well. Once, some of my girlfriends were having dinner with me. We talked about some makeup products. One of them told me that she knew a stewardess who flies a lot between Europe and China. The stewardess imports a lot makeup products to sell on Wechat, which are much cheaper than the same products in our mall. I asked my friend to send me her contact instantly, because they know each other very well. I will never buy a fake product like I might purchase on Taobao. The most important thing is that the price is good!

3. How does this Wechat Business Work?

Let's talk about theoretical knowledge, which is called O2Omarketing strategy. It provides a more personal experience by bringing people from your online networks to your offline networks. This is done by connecting and engaging with people online and then inviting them to your store, a networking event, a Chamber meeting, or even lunch. I have met many people “in real life” that were online friends or connections. Some have turned into great friends and some are now clients. Just like the stewardess I said before, she is a friend of mine now. We even met once in my hometown.
